Rose lives in the woman's refugee and discovers bruises on her body and she is coughing up blood. She has flashbacks of the night before - meeting a male vagrant, sharing whiskey. Anne has no number to contact her daughter, but waits patiently for her to arrive. Yet instead Rose spends the day in the park, walking the city streets and continues to drink heavily. When she returns to the refugee her Social Worker wants to know what happened to her. Rose has a horrible flashback – of being assaulted, beaten and left for dead, but she doesn’t say anything to him. She also believes that she has seen her baby daughter in the park that day, but her Social Worker tells her that she maybe mistaken. Rose has been drinking all day long. Left alone Rose looks at her picture of her baby daughter who is in care and thinks of happier times. Anne goes to bed without seeing her daughter Rose. Rose is lying on her bed perfectly still her eyes are wide open - we hear one last gasp for air. |
