On his way home from work one night, George gets attacked. To his amazement it turns out to be a dry run for a mugger training company and he is sent on his way and given a wad of cash for his troubles. Lucky?

A Mug’s Game is a modern fable on the dangers of expecting the unexpected. The audience is drawn in by, and sympathises with, George and his initial situation: being mugged on the way home from work. The story is then turned on its head as the audience and George come to the realisation that this has all been set up as a training exercise. George is given a large amount of money as recompense and goes on his way, only for the situation to repeat itself moments later. It’s here when George has come to expect what’s next, that the story twists again. George realises, as he falls to the ground, that this was a very real mugging.
