Terms and Conditions for The Reel Show International
Terms and conditions for www.reelshowint.com

  1. Definitions and Interpretation
1.1 In these terms and conditions: 
•    "Competition" means any competition run by Reelshow International; 
•    "Content" means all content and material including without limitation images, visuals, audiovisuals, films, photographs, musical works, text, scripts, graphics, and sound recordings; 
•    "Entrant" means any student uploading/submitting a Film onto www.reelshowint.com; 
•    "Film" means any audiovisual material uploaded/submitted to the website by the Entrant (whether or not for the purpose of entry into any Competition); 
•    "Graduation Film" a Film designated by you as a graduation film; 
•    "Privacy Policy" means terms and conditions of the private policy located at 
http://www.reelshowint.com/privacy-policy-statement.html
•    "Rules" means the rules of entry and governance of a Competition as defined on the [rules page]; 
•    "Reelshow International and www.reelshowint.com" mean Reelshow International Ltd; 
•    "Website" means the website located at the URL http://www.reelshowint.com. 
Except where the context otherwise requires, words denoting the singular include the plural and vice versa and references to 'persons' shall include natural persons, bodies corporate, unincorporated associations and partnerships.
 
2.Use of The Website
2.1 By accessing or using the Website in any way, you agree to and are bound by these Terms and Conditions and Reelshow International’s Privacy Policy which forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions is a condition to the access to and/or use of the Website. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions then you must immediately leave the Website and discontinue use of the Website. 
 
2.2 Acceptance of these Terms and Conditions (including the terms of the Privacy Policy) and the Rules is a condition of entry and receipt of an entry by Reelshow International (upload/submission) amounts to acceptance by you of the Terms and Conditions and the Rules. 
 
2.3 You further agree not to modify or interfere with the security settings or in anyway with the set up of the Website including without limitation the launching of any automated system such as "robots", "spiders" and/or "offline readers". 
 
2.4 Please be aware that the Website may contain links to other websites, resources or other third parties. Reelshow International has not reviewed,
assumes no responsibility for and accepts no liability in relation to the contents of, or the availability of, any other websites to which the Website has links and Reelshow International does not have control of such websites or their contents. Any such link does not imply Reelshow International’s support for, nor endorsement or recommendation of, the relevant third party website owner or any product, process or service provided or advertised via such linked website.

2.5 You may not link (whether by hyptertext link or deep link) to the Website from, or frame any part of the Website on, any website owned or controlled by you without our prior written consent.

2.6 Reelshow International reserves its right to modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The revised/modified Terms and Conditions shall have effect from the time of posting on the Website.

3.Film Submissions 
3.1 The Website is open to Films made worldwide. Only Graduation Films may be entered into any Graduation Film Competition. Entrants must be 16 years of age or older.

3.2 Unless the Rules for any Competition specifically stated otherwise there is no limit on duration for any Film to be submitted. 
 
3.3 The Film can be submitted in any language. 
 
3.4 Films can be created on any digital format. 
 
3.5 There is no closing date for submission of a Film unless otherwise stated. A  Film submitted during a month will be entered for the Competition in that month and each subsequent month.

3.6 Written clearances must be obtained from all actors participating in a film and all third party rights holders (including without limitation writers, composers, musicians and owners of sound recordings). If a child under 16 is featured, written parental/guardian consent must be obtained. These release forms must be held by the producer for referral and must be produced to Reelshow International on request. You can download an example Release Form in Microsoft Word format here. Reelshow International is not liable in any way for any use of this Release Form and you should obtain independent legal advice in accordance with the laws of your country in connection with obtaining appropriate clearances and permission from all rightsholders.

3.7 Any Films containing contributions or Content which has not been cleared or for which clearance cannot be obtained may be disqualified. Copyright music and/or sound recordings should be submitted on a separate track so that it can be removed from the Film if clearance cannot be obtained from the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society and/or Performing Rights Society.

3.8 Films must not contain any strong language, scenes of a clearly sexual nature or distressing scenes. Films that contain unlawful, defamatory, libellous, or obscene material, are of an explicitly violent or sexual nature or are likely to incite bigotry or racial, homophobic or religious prejudice will be rejected. Films may not be overtly promotional for commercial, charity or lobbying organisations or causes and must not bring Reelshow International or any other broadcasting organisation into disrepute. Films must comply with all laws, regulations and regulatory codes including without limitation all advertising codes.

3.9 By submitting Films on Reelshow International, the Entrant agrees to participate in publicity as required by Reelshow International.

3.10 Reelshow International will not enter into any correspondence or discussions concerning any decision regarding any Competition. Reelshow International’s decision in respect of any Competition is final.

3.11 Only one principal name will be credited per uploaded/submitted Film. The Entrant must upload/submit only his/her own original work and agrees and confirms that this will not infringe the copyright, moral rights, intellectual property rights or any other rights of any third party.

3.12 The Entrant hereby waives, and shall procure that all participants involved in the production of a Film waives, all his/her moral rights in respect of the Film to the extent permitted by law.

3.13 The Film is made at the Entrant's own expense and Reelshow International shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses incurred in making an entry.

4.Rights Reserved
Reelshow International reserves the right to: 
(i) refuse any entry for any Competition and/or the uploading of any Film on the Website for any reason whatsoever at its absolute discretion. 
(ii) remove any Film from the Website without notice for any reason whatsoever and at its absolute discretion. 
(iii) seek and issue publicity on behalf of the Entrant. 
 
5.Rights Granted
By uploading/submitting a Film, the Entrant grants Reelshow International a worldwide, royalty free, perpetual, irrevocable, licence (with a right to sub-license): 
(i) to use, display, digitize, encode, reproduce, publish, and transmit the Film on the Website. 
(ii) to use the Film for the purpose of syndication in connection with third party websites and/or services. This includes Reelshow International streaming the Film on third party websites for free access by their users. 
(iii) to use the Film for multiple broadcasts on the television networks (including terrestrial and satellite). 
(iv) to copy the Film and to send such copies to journalists and other interested parties worldwide for the purpose of reviewing the Film and of promoting Reelshow International and/or the Website. 
(v) the right to use the Entrant's name, photo and image in any publicity for the Film, the Website and/or Reelshow International. 
IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GRANT REELSHOW INTERNATIONAL OR ANY OTHER PERSON THE RIGHTS SET OUT ABOVE YOU MUST NOT UPLOAD/SUBMIT YOUR FILM.

6.Promotion
The Entrant consents to being filmed and recorded by Reelshow International where required for the further promotion of Reelshow International and/or the Film.

7.Intellectual Property Rights
7.1 All Content created by Reelshow International featuring excerpts of the Film is and shall remain the sole property of Reelshow International and the Entrant shall obtain no rights in respect of such Content. 
 
7.2 All other Content and the Intellectual Property Rights in the Content of the Website is owned by Reelshow International or licensed to Reelshow International by the relevant third party rights holders. 
 
7.3 The Content of the Website is provided to users of Website solely for the user's personal use and information only whilst viewing the Website and may not be copied, reproduced, displayed, digitized, encoded, published, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, sold, licensed or exploited for any other purpose whatsoever without the prior written consent of Reelshow International. 
 
8.Warranties and Indemnities
8.1 Reelshow International makes no representations, warranties, endorsements or guarantees with respect to the Content of the Website. 
 
8.2 As a user of the Website you acknowledge and accept that Reelshow International shall not have any liability or responsibility with respect to any Content of any Film. 
 
8.3 The Entrant warrants, represents and undertakes that he/she has any and all written clearances, licences, releases, consents and/or permissions necessary to submit and exhibit the Film to and on the Website for each and every use contemplated by these Terms and Conditions including without limitation to the extent required for the exploiting of the licences granted in clause 4 above) and that nothing in the Film is libellous, defamatory or infringes any third party Intellectual Property Right, right of publicity or any other rights whatsoever and the Entrant shall indemnify Reelshow International in respect of any claim or proceedings alleging the foregoing. 
 
8.4 The Entrant warrants, represents and undertakes that all persons appearing in the Film do so with their full or (where applicable) with full parental consent in writing. 
 
8.5 The Entrant warrants, represents and undertakes that no sums will be payable to any person whatsoever with respect to the communication of the Film, by Reelshow International or any other broadcasting organisations. 
 
8.6 The Entrant warrants, represents and confirms that he/she is aged 16 years or over. 
 
8.7 You shall indemnify Reelshow International and, if applicable, any licensee and/or sub-licensee of the Reelshow International, against any loss or damage howsoever occurring as a consequence of any breach by you of these Terms and Conditions (which for the avoidance of doubt includes the Privacy Policy). 
 
9.Limitation of Liability 
9.1 Use of and access to Website is at your sole risk and Reelshow International (including its directors, officers, employees and agents) accepts no responsibility or liability (to the fullest extent permitted by law) in connection with such use and/or access. 
 
9.2 Submission of Films to the Website by an Entrant is done at his/her own risk and sole responsibility. 
 
9.3 Whilst it is the policy of Reelshow International and part of the Terms and Conditions of use that the Films which are uploaded are suitable for broadcast to all persons, as a user of the Website you may be exposed to a Film which has been uploaded which contains offensive, indecent or objectionable material. By accepting these Terms and Conditions you agree to waive, to the fullest extent permitted by law, any rights you may have with respect to any remedies you might have in respect of such Films. 
 
9.4 Attendance by the Entrant at any event staged by Reelshow International and travel to or from any such event is at the Entrant's own cost unless otherwise agreed by Reelshow International. 
 
9.5 Reelshow International accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of Films (or any Content comprises therein) during the uploading process or thereafter and every Entrant is advise to keep at least one back up copy of his/her Film. 
 
9.6 No responsibility is taken by Reelshow International for loss, damage or delay to Films submitted for exhibition. 
 
9.7 Neither Reelshow International nor any of its licensees or sub-licensees is responsible or liable for any infringement by any third party of the Intellectual Property Rights or other rights subsisting in a Film. 
 
10.General
10.1 These Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
